The Shape of Adult Search, 2025-2026: AI Relationships Are the Only Growing Corner
Sindexed tracked twelve months of US search behavior across the head terms that define the adult internet, AI tools, companions, and every legacy format. The pattern is unmistakable: creator-platform and legacy-format interest is flat or falling, AI companion and uncensored-chat interest is surging, and demand inside AI chat is consolidating around a single winner. This is the demand rotation happening in real time, and we measure it every month. Figures are free to cite with attribution (CC BY 4.0).
Key findings
- 1. Search interest in "onlyfans" fell 47% over the window. The single biggest query in adult search (9.1M/mo US) is also its fastest faller. Creator-platform search demand is cooling while tool and companion queries grow.
- 2. AI relationships are the growth story, and it is not just girlfriends. "ai boyfriend" (+23%) is growing faster than "ai girlfriend" (+2%), alongside "ai companion app" (+37%) and "free ai girlfriend" (+35%). The companion category is broadening beyond its stereotype.
- 3. Users are searching for fewer filters, not more features. "uncensored ai chat" (+41%) is the fastest-growing head term in the basket. Demand is moving toward platforms that state what they allow, which makes published policies and guardrails a competitive surface, not fine print.
- 4. AI chat is consolidating in real time. Within the same category and window: "janitor ai" +17% while "spicychat" fell 36% and "crushon ai" fell 45%. Search demand is picking a winner.
- 5. Queries are specializing: the category noun is flat, the tool query grows. "ai porn" is roughly flat (-3%) while "ai porn generator" grew 22%. Searchers increasingly name the tool class they want, not the genre.
- 6. Legacy formats drift down together. "hentai" (-8%), "porn games" (-12%), "cam sites" (-1%): none collapsing, none growing. The demand rotation is toward AI, gradually and consistently.

Methodology
US market, July 2026 measurement cycle. Volumes are current monthly US search volume. Change compares the average of the last three months of a normalized 12-month search-interest index against the first three months of the same window, per keyword, it measures each query's own trajectory, not absolute volume shifts between queries. The basket of head terms is selected to cover every category in the Heat Index. Trend directions for platform-name queries corroborate the Heat demand data independently.
