It is also the platform behind one of the adult internet’s most instructive privacy failures, the September 2024 breach that exposed 1.9 million email addresses alongside user prompts. The product is capable and the deletion route is documented, but you should use it like a platform that has already been breached once, because it is.
Muah AI sells itself as the everything companion: chat, photo exchange, voice calls and video in one app, with a demo that runs before you even make an account. That try-first funnel is real, and so is the feature list, which at this price undercuts most of the category. The question with Muah has never been whether the product is capable. It is whether you should trust it with anything you would not want read back to you.
The breach is the context for everything
In September 2024, an attacker walked out of Muah with 1.9 million email addresses and the image-generation prompts attached to them. 404 Media broke the story, Have I Been Pwned indexed the breach that October, and follow-up reporting described a stack of loosely joined open-source parts that was easy to exploit. Most addresses were personal, easily tied to real identities. Whatever the platform has fixed since, that event is the base rate you are pricing in when you type anything into it.
