Worldwide Search Demand for Adult Platforms: The September 2026 Heat Index

Key findings

1. 1. The adult internet got smaller. It lost 7.3 million monthly search visits in a single cycle. Total measured demand across the index is 127,924,165 monthly worldwide organic visits, down 5.4% from a corrected August figure of 135,257,761. Five of the six categories we track shrank. This is the first contraction the index has recorded since it went worldwide, and it is broad rather than concentrated: cams, hentai, AI chat, AI generators and creator name-demand all fell together.
2. 2. Hentai gave back its August surge, and then some. Down 16.4%, the steepest move in the index. Hentai and manga platforms drew 31,732,523 visits, down from 37,950,774. In August the same category was up 10.3% and closing on cams; a month later it has fallen further than it rose. Hanime.tv alone lost 41.1% (11,342,374 to 6,678,031), the largest single-platform decline among the twenty biggest sites on the adult internet.
3. 3. The first category leader change since the index went worldwide. Hentai Haven now leads hentai and manga on 7,214,863 monthly visits, overtaking Hanime.tv on 6,678,031. Hentai Haven did not win by growing. It fell 9.0% while the platform above it fell 41.1%, which is what a leader change looks like in a contracting category. Every other category leader held: Stripchat, SpicyChat AI, OurDream.ai, DLsite and Sophie Rain.
4. 4. AI did not grow. It just did not fall as fast as everything else. AI sex chat (9,488,342) plus AI porn generators (1,903,748) total 11,392,090 monthly visits, down 0.9% against an index that fell 5.4%. That is enough to lift AI’s share of all adult search demand from 8.5% to 8.9%. Conversation still out-draws image generation five to one. In a shrinking market, holding flat is the strongest result anyone posted at scale.
5. 5. Porn games were the only category that grew. The category rose 3.6% to 9,507,400 on DLsite (+12.1% to 3,825,847) and Gamcore (+13.2% to 1,345,225). DLsite has now led the category for two consecutive cycles after taking it from F95zone in August. The two strongest performers in a falling index are both licensed storefronts rather than aggregators.
6. 6. This month reads as a 5.4% contraction. Measured against what we published in August, it would have read as 8.2% growth. One figure in the August index was pulled on the wrong measurement mode, understating Stripchat by 17,028,560 visits and therefore understating the whole index. We corrected the August page today and restated it to 135,257,761. Every month-over-month figure on this page is measured against that corrected baseline, not against the number we originally published. The uncorrected comparison would have shown the adult internet growing 8.2% in a month it actually shrank. We would rather publish the correction than the growth.

Methodology

Heat measures worldwide organic search demand reaching each platform, re-measured monthly (this snapshot pulled 2 September 2026) and verified against a second independent index. It captures search demand, not total usage: direct traffic, apps, and paid acquisition are excluded by design, which is why this is a demand index rather than a size ranking. Every worldwide figure in this edition comes from a single measurement endpoint on a single date, counting each platform’s subdomains as well as its root domain. Month-over-month deltas compare the 2 September pull with the corrected 3 August pull, both worldwide and both measured the same way, so they are like-for-like. OnlyFans creators are measured by worldwide name-query demand rather than domain traffic. Platforms enter the index by editorial selection; platforms without measurable demand are excluded from totals rather than estimated. The on-site Heat score shown on rankings is a log-scaled index of these raw figures; this report uses the raw visit counts. Data sources and full detail: methodology.

On the August baseline. The August index published one platform, Stripchat, on a measurement mode that excluded its subdomains and therefore understated it by 17,028,560 monthly visits. That single figure also set the yardstick for every cam-sites Heat score in that edition. We restated the August page on 2 September and this index measures against the restated figures. The August page records what was published, what it was changed to, and why. No other platform figure was affected.
